The Louisiana case of drug and sexual assault charges against disgraced commentator and former NFL player Darren Sharper has been postponed until June 15.
The Associated Press noted that Sharper, 39, appeared in a New Orleans courtroom on Tuesday. However, Judge Karen Herman delayed the case as Sharper’s legal matters in another case have not yet been resolved.
As previously reported, the ex-New Orleans Saint was sentenced to nine years in federal prison after pleading no contest to two separate sexual assault cases involving drugging and raping women in Los Angeles. He is accused of doing the same thing to other women in Nevada and Arizona as well as the Crescent City.
Local prosecutors said that under Sharper’s multijurisdictional plea agreement, he is not expected to receive any additional prison time.
The shocking charges against the former football hero were first brought to light last year when he was investigated for the two sexual assaults in LA.
At the time, he worked as an analyst for NFL Network and the company quickly cut ties with him.
Sharper spent 14 seasons in the league played for not only the Saints, but also the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.
