Demi Lovato dedicated her “Warrior” song to Bruce Jenner during her concert in New Zealand.

The 22-year-old, who referred to Jenner as a “heroic soul” Friday after his interview with Diane Sawyer, admitted that she wasn’t familiar with him until he appeared on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, E! News notes.

Lovato says she is inspired by the bravery Jenner has shown while discussing his struggles to find his true self. This sparked her decision to dedicate the song to him.

“But I just want to dedicate this song… It’s so cheesy that I’m even doing this, but whatever. I want to dedicate it to someone who became an even bigger hero last night—Bruce Jenner!” she said.

Lovato is in the midst of her Demi World Tour, which kicked off Sept. 16. 2014. She also added that she would have never thought she would be on stage dedicating a song to Jenner, 65, Daily Mail reports.

“No matter if you agree with it or not, he probably saved so many lives and educated so many people [about] transitioning into becoming a woman and being transgender and what that's all about. So, yeah, I just want to dedicate it to Bruce Jenner,” Lovato told the crowd at Vector Arena.
