On April 7, pop vocalist Demi Lovato shared a photo on Instagram of her latest new and improved forearm ink.
We first new Lovato was changing it up on April Fools’ Day, although the new tattoo is no joke. She posted a photo with a tattoo artist, showing the what looks to be painful progress. The caption read, “Oh yeah….. Forgot to post this…. It’s still a work in progress so I’ll insta when it’s done… and no this is NOT an April fools joke haha.”
The location of her new body art can be found on her left arm just below the word “Stay” found on the underside of her wrist. Her original tattoo was a pair of lips that look very similar to the lips emoji, or according to Demi, a vagina. Once she released the finalized product of a rose, she gave a shoutout to her tattoo artist in the caption that read, “Bye bye (lips emoji) and hello (rose emoji) .. Thank you SO MUCH to my brother @GEESPOTTAT2… It looks beaaauutiful and I LOVE it!! #RIPvaginatattoo #kidsdontdodrugs.”
Now we know where to go if we want to steal Demi’s tattoo style. The “Really Don’t Care” singer has a large, apparently still growing collection of around 14 tattoos including feathers, a flock of birds, a cross, and several uplifting words and phrases, according to Steal Her Style. Many of Lovato’s tatts are a result of the rough patch she went through in dealing with negative self-esteem and eating disorders that had been going on since she was around the age of 13, E! confirmed.
Lovato hasn’t revealed the actual meaning behind the rose, but at least she’s happier with the transformed tattoo. The “Neon Lights” singer still actively promotes her line of Secret Color hair extensions and continues to change up her look with a pop of color. With this new addition, Lovato now has new and improved color on her arm, as well as her hair.
