It’s not quite the Tanner family reunion we were all hoping for, but it’s as close as we will get to a Full House revival. Netflix is reportedly working on a sequel to the beloved series called Fuller House, starring Candace Cameron Bure.
The news was first reported by TV Line, which claims that Netflix is “thisclose” to putting in a 13-episode order for the series. It will be a multi-camera sitcom with Cameron Bure returning as D.J. Tanner. Andrea Barber would return as her best friend Kimmy.
The project was also reported on by TheWrap and other Hollywood outlets.
While Cameron Bure will be the main star of the new series, John Stamos, Bob Saget and Dave Coulier will be asked to make cameos. Stamos, who was the one actively pushing for a Full House revival, will be a producer. Creator Jeff Franklin and executive producers Thomas L. Miller and Robert L. Boyett will return.
Full House lasted eight seasons on ABC, ending in 1995. But considering the recent renewed interest in the series, it was almost like it never ended. Recent cast reunions have only added fuel to the fire.
When TheCelebrityCafe.com asked Cameron Bure in January if she enjoyed “growing up” before the camera, she said she did. “Obviously, I enjoyed it because I’m still in the entertainment industry today. It was just a part of my life and I loved every minute of it,” she said.
