Even though George R.R. Martin really wants to finally finish the next novel in his A Song of Ice and Fire saga, the creator of the Game of Thrones world is reportedly working on another series with HBO.

This potential project is called Captain Cosmos and the pilot will actually be written by Michael Cassutt (SyFy’s Z Nation). It centers on a writer at the dawn of television in 1949, who plans on writing stories considered revolutionary at the time.

News of the project was first revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

If you are concerned that this will take Martin away from finally finishing The Winds of Winter, The Hollywood Reporter claims that it won’t be a time-consuming project for him. It sounds like he will just be on as an executive producer.

Earlier this week, Martin posted a full chapter from The Winds, which will be the first book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series since 2011. Martin will not write an episode for the sixth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones so he can focus on getting the book done by 2016, before that season premieres.

“I wish it was out now,” Martin told EW. “Maybe I’m being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I’m turning down a lot more interviews — anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done.”

The fifth season of Game of Thrones starts on April 12.
