Game of Thrones season five is already three episodes in but the premiere of the 5th season is still racking up ratings.

Hit Fix reported that HBO is moving away from traditional reporting of ratings because of the multiple platforms that fans can view shows on, including, Live+7 DVR data, HBO OnDemand, HBOGo and most recently HBO Now.

The season five opener has now been watched by over 18.1 million viewers. This is a 1.2 million increase from the season four premiere. Last year the show set a network record of 19.1 million viewers per episode.

Thrones is not the only success for HBO, Silicon Valley has reached over 5.7 million viewers. It debuted right at Thrones and is currently ahead of the series opener back in 2014, The Hollywood Reporter added.
