Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys knew this was possible when they signed him this past offseason. Because of the troubles he found himself in, a suspension would be likely, and that's exactly what happened today for Greg Hardy.

The Cowboys defensive lineman was suspended 10 games by the NFL today, via CBS Sports. The suspension comes as a result of Hardy's off the field troubles from a year ago.

Hardy had been facing domestic violence charges from an incident that took place back on May 2014. Although the charges were eventually dismissed - because Hardy's accuser didn't cooperate with authorities - Hardy missed 15 of the Carolina Panthers 16 games in 2014, via Pro Football Reference.

There was no chance he would see significant time last season. His case combined with the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson situations created a dark cloud above "The Shield."

Now, Hardy won't be able to suit up for his new team until Week 12 against, believe it or not, his former team in the Panthers.
