Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein has been cleared in the groping case that was brought against him by an Italian model.

Late last month, Westein was questioned by New York police after a 22-year-old Italian model claimed that he touched her breasts at the Tribeca Film Center last month. Weinstein’s rep was confident that the producer, 63, would be “fully vindicated” in the case.

Now, the New York Times has confirmed that the Manhattan district attorney has decided not to charge Weinstein after an investigation.

“This case was taken seriously from the outset, with a thorough investigation conducted by our sex crimes unit,” DA spokesman Joan Bollero said. “After analyzing the available evidence, including multiple interviews with both parties, a criminal charge is not supported.”

The model, whose name was not released, claimed that Weinstein asked if her breasts were real, then touched her. She claimed he continued to do so, even when she told him to stop.

“We are pleased this episode is behind us,” Weinstein’s rep said Friday.

Weinstein is the co-founder of The Weinstein Company, which has distributed two recent Best Picture Oscar winners, The Artist and The King’s Speech. The company also released last year’s hit The Imitation Game. Weinstein also co-founded Miramax and won an Oscar for Shakespeare In Love as a co-producer.

TWC just released The Woman in Gold with Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren.
