Actors James Van Der Beek and Anna Camp poked fun at Indiana’s religious freedom law with a Funny Or Die video that shows just how uncomfortable a home shopping network can get.
In the video, the stars are seen co-hosting a home shopping network in Indiana. They get a bit distressed when some of the callers turn out to be gay and start asking incredibly personal questions. That just gets in the way of actual shopping, frustrating the callers and hosts.
Indiana recently passed a Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which some critics have said allows businesses to discriminate against gays and lesbians if they do not want to serve them. That’s what Van Der Beek and Camp’s video tries to show.
Indiana lawmakers did propose changes to the law, which Gov. Mike Pence signed into law on Thursday. However, some critics have said that the changes are still not enough.
Funny Or Die has recently become a platform for celebrities to try to make points with funny videos. For example, Kristen Bell tried to highlight low minimum wage as Marry Poppins in one video last summer.
