Over three weeks after the rumors started, John Stamos has confirmed that the Full House sequel series Fuller House is in the works. The executive producer and original Full House star said that Netflix has given the series a 13-episode order.

Stamos was on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night to give Kimmel the “exclusive” news.

“It’s a labor of love and we’ve literally been trying for so many years to do it right and I think we’ve finally got it perfect,” Stamos said. “And they just, five minutes ago, said you can give the exclusive to Jimmy Kimmel, so I’ve just given it to you.”

As reported earlier this month, Fuller House will star Candace Cameron Bure as D.J. Tanner once again. Andrea Barber will play Kimmy Gibbler again and Jodie Sweetin is returning to play D.J.’s younger sister Stephanie.

Fuller House will premiere in 2016. Stamos is definitely returning to play Uncle Jesse, while talks are still under way to get Bob Saget and Dave Coulier. TVLine, which first reported on the new series earlier this month, also notes that producers are talking with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen about their return.

“If we can’t get the Olsen twins, we’re going to dress you up,” Stamos told Kimmel.
