Kylie Jenner has responded to the new movement that has taken over social media called the #KylieJennerLipChallenge, during which young girls are suctioning their lips to appear bigger.
As we previously reported, teen girls have been showing off the results of their challenge, much of them experiencing bruising and swelling as a result.
On Tuesday, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, 17, took to Twitter to encourage young girls to be themselves and not try to imitate her look.
“I'm not here to try & encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look,” she tweeted. “I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look.”
There are multiple Twitter accounts like @KylieJennerChal popping up dedicated solely to retweet the girls who are participating.
Dr. Dendy Engleman has told Seventeen not only is suctioning lips painful, but “there is potential risk for scarring and permanent disfigurement with repeated attempts."
