Larry King is weighing in on the Brian Williams controversy, saying in a new interview he’s not sure he can win the trust back of the public.

Williams is currently on a six-month suspension for getting caught in one lie, but just this week, it was revealed that an investigation found at least 11 other instances of embellishments in his reporting.

“I like Brian personally, but he’s thrown himself under the bus,” King told HuffPost Live. “I like him very much, he’ll wind up somewhere, but I don’t think he can anchor at NBC. The problem he would have is that trust and that’s all the public has to deal with in television.”

One person who is pulling for Williams’ return to NBC is NBC News chief Andrew Lack.

King went on to call Williams a “great personality,” but doesn’t think he can work at NBC in the future. He said it would be “a little embarrassing” if he had to report on a public figure being caught lying or a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

He also said he "wouldn't discount" Williams taking a spot on CNN.
