Getting a life-size wax figure is a snooze. But getting a life-size chocolate figure is much more exciting. Benedict Cumberbatch now has one, thanks to a weird promotion in the U.K.
To promote a new Drama channel on UKTV’s on demand service, the company asked 2,000 women to name the “dishiest” man on British dramatic television. Since Cumberbatch is still technically a TV star as the title character in Sherlock, he easily won the competition.
As the winner, he got a life-size chocolate figure, made completely out of Belgian milk chocolate, notes The Telegraph. The figure is hollow and weighs 40kg (around 88 pounds). It will go on display at Westfield Stratford City in London on Friday.
Cumberbatch came out ahead of Broadchurch’s David Tennant, who came in second, notes The BBC. Sean Bean, Idris Elba and Damian Lewis rounded out the Top 5.
Cumberbatch has successfully transitioned to film, earning his first Oscar nomination for the Alan Turing biopic The Imitation Game. Last week, he read a special poem at the reburial of King Richard III, since they are very distant cousins.
