Television fans that didn't have access to Netflix didn't let that stop them when it came to watching Netflix's latest original series Marvel's Daredevil. The series has been downloaded illegally over 2.1 million times since the show debuted on April 10th.
Variety reported that the only show that tops Daredevil when it comes to illegal downloading is HBO's Game of Thrones. Thrones remains the most-pirated TV show to date. In comparison to Daredevil, it has been downloaded over 6.5 million times during the same time frame.
Netflix recently crossed 4.9 million subscribers, as was detailed in their first quarter notes to shareholders. Within this memo CEO Reed Hasting and CFO David Wells explained that they are aware that piracy with their original programing is a problem. "Piracy remains a considerable long-term threat, mostly outside the U.S."
Daredevil stars, Charlie Cox Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Rosario Dawson.
