The teacher-student couple, Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fualaau, who dominated headlines for their relationship in the ‘90s, are still together and sat down with Barbara Walters for an interview on 20/20 ahead of their 10th wedding anniversary.

Their story made headlines across the nation in 1997 when Letourneau was convicted of raping then-12 year old Fualaau, who was in sixth grade when they began their affair. She was 34 years old at the time.

Fualaau was 13 when Letourneau became pregnant with their first daughter and their second was born when he was 15 years old, when Letourneau was serving jail time for the relationship.

ABC News reports he told Walters of their marriage now, “I don't think there's ever a full 10 good years of marriage. You have your ups and downs in marriages. But, you know, what matters is how you pull through all the bad times.”

They got married 10 months after she got released from an almost 8-year prison sentence in 2005. Letourneau is 53 now and he’s is 31; their daughters are teenagers.

The interview will air on Friday, April 10 at 10pm.
