For some, realizing the big clubs have already traveled north is too much to handle. It is the sound of a bat cracking or a mitt popping that has these baseball fans so giddy.

Finally, the 2015 Major League Baseball season has finally arrived.

All but two clubs - the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals who had the pleasure of kicking things off last night - see action at some point today.

In total, 11 day-games were played. Some ended up with results we expected, while others shocked the masses.

Here's a mini-recap on the action from today's Opening Day, via CBS Sports:

Blue Jays: 6
Yankees: 1

White Sox: 1
Royals: 10

Twins: 0
Tigers: 4

Orioles: 6
Rays: 2

Angels: 1
Mariners: 4

Pirates: 2
Reds: 5

Padres: 3
Dodgers: 6

Braves: 2
Marlins: 1

Rockies: 10
Brewers: 0

Mets: 3
Nationals: 1

Red Sox: 8
Phillies: 0

The Astros and Indians have just gotten underway in Cleveland. The Rangers visit Oakland later tonight, while the defending champion Giants head into Arizona.

Notes:

For the New York Yankees, Opening Day turned out to be a nightmare. Ace Masahiro Tanaka was roughed up for a five-run inning in the third at the hands of Toronto.

The Boston Red Sox powered their way in the only Inter-League game of the day. They smashed an incredible five home runs on the day, including two from newcomer Hanley Ramirez.

The New York Mets shocked the Washington Nationals. Big fish Max Scherzer was coasting with a one nothing lead until his defense let him down in a major way. The Mets capitalized.

Elsewhere, reigning AL MVP Mike Trout hit a home run in his first at-bat, and Tigers starting pitcher David Price came up with a gem of a game.

The key to Opening Day, however, is to not get too high or too low based on one game. Remember, this is just No. 1 of 162.

Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint.
