It’s crazy that another season of Real Housewives of Atlanta drama is coming to an end.
The finale kicks off showing Nene walking with her husband and son to the theater where she’ll be performing in Cinderella. Nene is wearing an absolutely terrible wig. But hey, that’s what she’s been doing all season long. The scene as she’s standing on stage and becoming emotional really feels put on and not genuine at all. Kind of awkward scene, Mrs. Leakes.
Over to Kenya who’s hanging out with Brandon. They are doing voiceover work for Kenya’s television pilot, Life Twirls On. Considering the name of this episode, it seems that we’ll be seeing a lot of the production going into Ms. Moore’s pilot. Kenya has been claiming on Twitter that the premiere date is 3 weeks from now. It’s shocking that a show would be premiering in 3 weeks with no promotion so far. But, all the best to Kenya.
Next we see Kandi and Todd for a brief moment as they are preparing to head over to Mama Joyce’s for dinner. Kandi is happy at the fact that her mom personally invited Todd to a party she’s throwing. Baby steps. Todd asks Kandi if she’s taking anything over for the dinner, to which Kandi responds, “I took the house.” Truth, Kandi, Truth. When Kandi said she could take care of everybody in this room, she meant it!
After the break we’re with Kandi and Todd again as they are showing up to the dinner. Poor Todd hits a light she has in the yard and breaks it, he can’t catch a break. There is a ton of food at this family dinner and everything looks absolutely delicious. Kandi, can we get an invite next time?
Kandi drops the bomb on her family, including her daughter, that she’s considering moving to Los Angeles. The reason? Todd’s show that he produces got picked up for a second season. Congrats, Todd!
Now Cynthia and Todd are back moving out of their old restaurant. It isn’t permanently closing but it is relocating. As they arrive at the new place Peter takes Cynthia next door to show her the space he’s leasing for a coffee shop. He’d never mentioned it to her, and only says it “happened fast.” Shouldn’t this be the type of thing you discuss with your spouse?
All of a sudden Peter gets a phone call, it's Apollo from prison. We’re off to a break.
After we’re back Apollo is telling Cynthia and Peter that he hasn’t seen his children. At this point he has been in prison for 6 weeks. Phaedra claims that she simply can’t just take her children to visit because there are rules. Apollo claims that his brother has tried to bring the kids and Phaedra won’t let him. Who is telling the truth?
To be honest, it seems that Phaedra will look for any excuse to not take her kids to visit.
Peter asks Apollo if he is aware that Phaedra filed for divorce. Thankfully he already knew, or else that would be Peter putting Cynthia in another terrible situation with Phaedra, had he broke the news to Apollo.
It’s Nene’s opening night for Cinderella. The director tells her she couldn’t be more ready, obviously something pleasant to hear as you’re about to make your Broadway debut.
We flash over to a night in Atlanta where Kenya is having a screening party of her premiere. It’s rather extra but she did have personalized drinks for everyone. Phaedra says she only likes grand entrances that make sense. Ironic considering her entrance at her rally last week. Awkward.
Kenya’s screening seems to be fun for the ladies. She even produced her own commercial break of herself.
Nene’s broadway performance seems to go well. Her tears on stage seemed to be rather phony. But her closing notes for the season also advertise the price of the house she and Gregg just purchased, when any other housewife simply would have said they “bought a new home.” Leave it up to Nene to advertise every dime she has.
The ladies, for the most part, end everything on a good note for the season. Phaedra wont dish on if she’s going to visit Apollo, Kenya is shopping her pilot, Kandi doing fertility treatments, and Claudia considering doing a small stand up tour.
Next week it’s the first episode of the 3 part reunion. Check back for a review of all the drama that’s certain to go down!
