New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski says if given the choice he'd prefer to suffer from a concussion than a knee injury.

During a guest spot on The Jim Rome Show, the topic of concussions in the NFL was brought up. When asked if he'd rather have a concussion or a blown knee, Gronkowski chose a concussion because it wouldn't leave him idle.

"Why would I want to sit there for eight months and not do anything when, with a concussion, I'll just wake up and I'll be ready to go again," he said.

The tight end understands both injuries well as he dealt with both a concussion and torn ACL in the 2013 season. Gronkowski's reputation for partying likely had an influence on the decision. Since winning the Super Bowl, Gronkowski has been celebrating almost non-stop and even held a contest for fans to join him on is party bus. When asked if he was worried about the possible effects of a concussion to his memory, Gronkowski added that it wouldn't be too unusual for him.

"That happens all the time. I mean I don't even know how I got to my hotel last night."

Concussions have been a hot topic for the NFL as of late. Some players, including former 49ers linebacker Chris Borland, have retired from the NFL at a young age because of health concerns.

Gronkowski's comments will likely only continue the talks of injuries in football.
