Russell Crowe might be estranged from his wife, Danielle Spencer, but he doesn’t want to be. While on CBS This Morning, Crowe publicly professed his desire to work it out with her.

Crowe and Spencer split after 9 years of marriage in 2012 but they haven’t made any formal steps towards divorce.

"I was so proud to wear that ring, Charlie. I don't feel balanced,” Crowe told Charlie Rose, E! Online reports.

"To this day everything I do is still connected to that," he said of their marriage. "We haven't done the deal yet. I'm a very persistent person, you never know,” adding, "I didn't get married to get divorced.”

The former couple have two sons; Tennyson, 8, and Charles, 11. They met while co-starring in The Crossing in 1989.

Earlier this month Spencer told Daily Telegraph “I want to be on the best of terms with Russell” but doesn’t see a reconciliation in their future.
