Sean "Diddy" Combs returns to the world of TV producing. He executive produces the new animated FX series The Brightmoor.

Created and written by Chip Hall (King of the Hill) and Detroit comedian Comedian CP, a.k.a. Chris Powell, Deadline reported on the new series, described as South Park set in inner-city Detroit. More specifically, The Brightmoor centers on the African-American students at Brightmoor Elementary. Hall and Powell also executive produce the show.

In addition to Hall, Powell and Combs, who hosts the show under his Revolt Films banner, Sarah Snedekerk oversees and produces The Brightmoor. Also executive producers are Trevor Engelson, from Underground and Doug Banker, of Five All In The Fifth.

The Brightmoor continues FX's attempt to have an animated series as successful and liked as Archer. They attempt to touch on that show's popularity already with Chozen and Unsupervised, but both were cancelled after one season.

Combs previously worked on shows like I Want to Work for Diddy, StarMaker, Daddy's Girl and Run's House. Hall also worked on Blue Mountain State as a writer, but The Brightmoor is his first show as a creator. Same goes for CP, whose only other experience in television is as L'il Prince on Empire.
