Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell has reportedly been suspended three games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy back in August 2014.

The league hasn’t officially announced the suspension yet, but league sources confirmed it to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The sources said that Bell plans on appealing the suspension.

In addition to missing the first three games of the season, Bell will also lose another game check.

Bell and former teammate LeGarrette Blount were arrested on Aug. 20 in a Pittsburgh suburb by an officer who smelled marijuana from Bell’s car. In February, Bell received 15 months probation on marijuana possession and DUI charges.

Blount, who was suspended for the season opener, was only charged with marijuana possession. The charge was later dropped when he did 50 hours of community service. Blount now plays for the New England Patriots after the Steelers released him in the middle of the 2014 season.

Bell was had the second-most rushing yards in the NFL last season with 1,361. He also had 854 yards receiving on 83 catches.
