Taraji P. Henson is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, so you can bet there will be plenty of parodies and jokes about Fox’s smash hit Empire. In her commercials for the episode, Henson shows Taran Killam that she is really like her character “Cookie” Lyon.
On Tuesday, the SNL team posted the full, three-minute reel of commercials that Henson and Killam taped, beginning with one where he asks her if she really is like Cookie in real life. “Don’t ask questions you don’t like the answers to, little boy!” she says as she slaps Killam.
In another one, they joke about how it is springtime in New York, but the cloud cover over the skyline behind them forced the SNL crew to put in a CG sun. They also joke about how Henson has never done live TV before.
There’s also a great joke about a super serious show about a family of baseball players. We kind of wish they saved that joke for the show.
SNL will also feature Mumford & Sons this weekend.
