In tonight’s Big Bang Theory Leonard is invited to give a commencement speech at his old high school’s graduation in New Jersey. As they are about to leave, Leonard learns that his flight was cancelled. Leonard is disappointed he is unable to give the speech, so Penny talks the school into letting him do it via Skype. She goes to the costume shop to get him a graduation cap and gown. Unfortunately, the only one left was called “sexy graduate.”

The time to give the speech approaches, so Leonard gets ready for the occasion. He quickly sees just how short the graduation gown is, but he is able to give the speech in it since his legs won’t be seen. Leonard starts by giving a long-winded speech until he realizes how boring he sounds. He takes off his cap and addresses the kids that don’t fit. He tells them that by participating in the “unpopular” things they enjoy, they are becoming interesting, and one day someone will notice.

Raj purchased a helicopter drone that cost a month’s rent. His father, who gets the bill, is not very happy. Over video chat, he tells Raj that he will be cutting off his allowance.

Sheldon and Howard attempt to play with the drone, but they have trouble getting it to work. Howard suggests that they take it apart to get it to work, feeling very confident because he is an engineer. Raj comes to Sheldon’s apartment to tell him he has to return the helicopter, but freaks out when he sees that it has been disassembled.

Raj calls his mother and lies, saying that his father won’t give him money because he can no longer afford it because of his “active social life.” His mom believes that he may be dating someone. She agrees to give Raj more money than he was.

Raj tells Howard and Sheldon that he can buy helicopters for everyone, but Howard is determined to put the one they have back together. Howard thinks he has it properly assembled, but when they try to start it up there is just a puff of smoke. Howard gives in and decides to call tech support. While waiting on hold, Howard wallows in self-pity. All of a sudden, Howard gets the drone to fly. He is unable to stop it, realizing that they are getting a WiFi signal from somewhere else. The drone starts flying, reeking havoc around the apartment. They are able to guide it out of the apartment, where it then attacks Penny and Leonard in the hallway.
