The Women's Final Four featured Connecticut, Notre Dame, Maryland and South Carolina facing off for a place in the championship game and a major celebrity was in attendance to witness the action. Actor Tom Cruise was seen in the crowd during the games and once the crowd realized he was in attendance, he drew a loud ovation.

ABC News reported that Cruise attended the game in Tampa, Florida with his son, Connor. During halftime, Cruise was seen taking pictures with fans.

It wasn't clear which team Cruise was cheering for but he appeared to having a good time in the suite with his son.

UConn player Breanna Stewart was told after the game ended and her team advanced that Cruise was in the audience watching. "No. Where was he? Oh, my gosh. I didn't even get to meet him," said Stewart.

Cruise can next be seen in the continuation of the Mission: Impossible franchise with Rogue Nation, the film was originally going to be released in December but has been moved up to July 31, 2015. Rumors indicated that Rouge Nation didn't want to compete with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which also has a December release date. The trailer features Cruise actually hanging off the side of a plane, a stunt he performed himself, Time added.
