The Voice is back and the search is on to find the best vocal talent in America. This season features the return of Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams along with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.

The knockouts are over, the battles are done and now the live playoffs have started. Each artist will have a chance to perform in order to win over the votes of America. The bottom three artists will be announced and a Twitter save is activated, allowing fans at home to get involved with the show in real time.

This week also featured a live performance from Sia who sang her single, “Elastic Heart.” In true Sia fashion, she performed on stage but no one was able to see her face. Despite that, her performance showed off what a truly incredible vocalist is capable of.

10. Nathan Hermida-Chains

Nathan Hermida, representing Team Adam, took on “Chains” by Nick Jonas for his chance to advance to the top 12. His performance featured nice runs and high energy but it wasn’t until the end of the song that he really found his stride and owned the stage. This might not have been enough to see him advance to the top 12.

9. Caitlin Caporale-Best Thing I Never Had

Performing a Beyonce song is no easy task but Caitlin Caporale, representing Team Pharrell delivered this performance effortlessly. Picking such a well known and popular song won’t hurt Caporale’s chances of advancing to the top 12, she also surprised with how well she matched up against Queen B herself.

8. Joshua Davis-Budapest

Joshua Davis is representing the indie, acoustic rock genre on The Voice and his performances always feel refreshing after such grand and powerful pop songs. Davis is subtle but impresses because he is something different and his vocal range is smooth yet has that deep rock tone that allows him to pull of songs like this by George Ezra. Team Adam is the perfect place for Davis.

7. Kimberly Nichole-What’s Up

Kimberly Nichole, representing Team Christina, took a unique song choice and made it her own. She really showed off what she could do as a vocalist and with a performance like this is likely to advance to the next round in the competition. She was a stand out of the night and impressed because of the risks she took, her outfit choice and power behind her vocal delivery.

6. Rob Taylor-Earned it

Rob Taylor, a Team Christina member, performed “Earned It” and delivered. He put his own style into the song and really showed off not only who he is as a performer but also who he would be as a recording artist. He has such a sexy and smooth vocal delivery, that is it captivating.

5. Lexi Davilla-All By Myself

Team Christina member, Lexi Davilla, impressed with this emotional rendition of “All By Myself.” She showed off how strong and wide her vocal range was and that she was a perfect fit for Team Christina.

4. India Carney-Hurt

Team Christina features some of the best female vocalists in the competition, including India Carney. Carney took on Aguilera’s own song, “Hurt” for her chance to advance to the top 12. It drew comparisons to Aguilera’s performance but Carney but her own twist on the song and made this performance memorable.

3. Rob Taylor-Love and Happiness

Rob Taylor, representing Team Christina, took on an Al Green classic and delivered in everyway possible. His performance had soul, depth and passion. His performance was a standout and it made for an easy decision for Coach Christina, she advanced him to the live shows.

2. Meghan Linsey-Love Runs Out

Meghan Linsey took on One Republic’s “Love Runs Out” and put everything she had into this performance. She managed to put her own tiwst onto the song and commanded the stage from the opening note. Linsey is quickly becoming a front-runner for Team Blake.

1. Mia Z- Ain’t No Sunshine

The live performance of the night goes to Mia Z, representing Team Pharrell, with her unique cover of Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine.” Her performance was unlike anyone else that was competing for the top 12. She put her own spin on the song, changed up the arrangement and made this classic feel completely new. She had been under the radar during early portions of the competition but is now becoming a front-runner not only for Team Pharrell but for the entire competition as well.
