Tyrese Gibson spoke about Paul Walker’s daughter, Meadow Rain, at the premiere of Brotherly Love and how she felt about the work they did to honor her late father.
According to People, at the event on Monday night in Los Angeles, Gibson said of her reaction to Furious 7 that “She had nothing but love. She said we checked all the boxes. She was very proud of the way we went about closing out this chapter.”
Since its opening day, Furious 7 has been at the top of the box office and reached over $800 million dollars globally by the end of this past weekend. The Fast and Furious cast mates have paid loving tributes to their late co-star and they worked hard to give Walker and his character, Brian O’Conner, an ending that fans would love.
Gibson said that Meadow also had told them, “’You guys did right by my father.’”
Meadow appears to be very close to her father’s Fast and Furious family. E! News reported that the 16-year-old posted a snapshot on Instagram in which she is seen cuddling with actress Elsa Pataky and actor Vin Diesel.
Walker was a dedicated father to his daughter and it was clear he found pride in being a father. As previously reported, Diesel has been vocal on how Walker made sure he was present in the delivery room for the birth of his first daughter.
He named his third daughter Pauline in honor of the man he calls his brother. In an interview with Today co-host Natalie Morales, Diesel said Walker was instrumental in being his “guide into fatherhood” and had been “adamant” that he be there to witness his daughter’s birth.
