In addition to picking up new shows for the 2015-2016 TV season, ABC announced last night that 22 shows are coming back in the fall. However, news was not all good for every show on the network.
The alternative/reality programming renewals were all easy decisions. America’s Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Dancing With The Stars, Shark Tank and Beyond The Tank all got new seasons. ABC News’ 20/20 was also picked up.
On the comedy side, Fresh Off The Boat, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish and The Middle. The musical comedy Galavant also earned a surprising renewal.
For dramas, the renewed series are Secrets and Lies, Marvel’s Agent Carter, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, How To Get Away With Murder, Castle, Nashville, Once Upon A Time, American Crime, Scandal and - of course - Grey’s Anatomy.
Ioan Gruffudd’s time on television was short-lived as Forever did not get renewed. As TV Guide pointed out, Cristela, Resurrection and The Taste were all cancelled.
Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing remains the last show without in limbo.
