Johnny Depp's dogs are being threatened wit euthanasia in Australia after he failed to claim them in customs.

Depp is in Queensland, Australia shooting the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel Dead Men Tell No Tales, where he brought his two Yorkshire Terriers along via his private jet.

When the dogs were discovered by a Department of Agriculture biosecurity officer, after being tipped off by a local dog groomer, Depp was warned that if he didn’t get the dogs back to the U.S. in less than 48 hours they face being put down.

“Any animal which is imported without meeting Australia’s import conditions will be ordered into quarantine and will either be exported or euthanized,” officials said in a statement, ABC News reports.

Barnaby Joyce, Australia’s Minister of Agriculture, said that "it looked like he snuck them in” to the country, CNN reports.

Australia’s strict biosecurity laws aim to keep diseases out of the country that dogs could potentially carry, so as a result, dogs that enter need to be tested first.

“If we start letting movie stars, even if they've been 'Sexiest Man Alive' twice, to come into our nation then why don't we just break the laws for everybody,” Joyce continued. “It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States. After that I don't expect to be invited to the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean."

A petition has since been started to “save” Depp’s dogs, which has 9,000 signatures so far.
