Bobbi Kristina Brown’s father, aunt and grandmother have been named conservators of her medical care. The 22-year-old daughter of Whitney Houston has been hospitalized since Jan. 31.
Lawyers for her father, singer Bobby Brown; her grandmother, Cissy Houston; and aunt Pat Houston said in a statement to the Atlanta Journal Constitution that they have been named co-guardians. There has also been a third party appointed to handler Bobbi Kristina’s finances.
“Both Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi’s care and medical needs,” the joint statement reads. “The Court has also appointed Bedelia Hargrove as the Conservator for Krissi. Ms. Hargrove is responsible for Krissi’s assets, including her likeness, rights and legal claims.”
Even though there were reports of tension between Brown and the Houston family, the two sides said that they are “working harmoniously” to make sure that Bobbi Kristina is taken care of.
Brown caused some confusion last month when he told an audience that his daughter was “awake” and “watching me.” However, Cissy Houston said that Bobbi Kristina was still unresponsive, although no longer in a coma.
Bobbi Kristina Brown was put in a medically induced coma after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31 at her Georgia home. Her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, reportedly found her.
