While it was known that Bradley Cooper would be one of the executive producers on CBS’ TV version of Limitless, the network has confirmed that the Oscar-nominated actor will surprisingly make appearances on the show.
When the network announced its 2015-2016 schedule, CBS added that Cooper will play Edward Mora, the character he played in the 2011 film of the same name, as a recurring role. Edward is now a Senator and presidential nominee.
Like the original film, directed by Neil Burger, the show centers on man who uses the mysterious drug NZT and is forced to work with the FBI. Jake McDorman is the star, playing Brian Finch, who has to work with Jennifer Carpenter’s Special Agent Rebecca Harris. Brian also has a previous relationship with Edward and hopes to be his protege.
Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man) directed the pilot. The series also stars Hill Harper and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
Limitless is set to debut this fall on Tuesdays at 10 p.m., following NCIS and NCIS: Los Angeles.
It’s not clear how many episodes Cooper will appear in, but it’s a huge coup for CBS to get him to recur. The actor is coming off of three consecutive Oscar nominations for Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle and American Sniper.
