Bruce Jenner is being sued by the stepchildren of a woman killed in a February car crash on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu.

The former Olympian and reality TV star was involved in a car crash on Feb. 7 that resulted in the death of Kim Howe, 69. In April, TMZ reported that Howe’s two stepchildren were preparing to file a wrongful death civil lawsuit against Jenner, even though they were not close to Howe. They say they are her closest living relatives.

On Friday, the stepchildren, Dana Redmond and William Howe, filed the lawsuit.

Jenner’s vehicle hit the rear of Howe’s Lexus, “propelling her vehicle into the opposite lanes of traffic,” according to the lawsuit. “Ms. Howe’s vehicle was then struck head-on by another vehicle, killing her.”

Reuters reports that the lawsuit calls Jenner out for violating the “rules of the road,” adding that he was “negligent, careless and reckless.”

CNN contacted Jenner’s publicist, who did not offer a comment.

Jenner was not injured in the accident. He later issued a statement, offering condolences to Howe’s family.

“My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident,” the statement read. “It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.”

Jenner won the gold medal for the decathlon at the 1976 Summer Olympics, but is also known for appearing on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. He told Diane Sawyer last week that he is transitioning to a woman.

Police are still investigating the car crash.
