Bruce Jenner has already told the world that he is transitioning to being a woman, but now he’s finally ready to show that change to everyone. He will reportedly do so with a Vanity Fair cover shoot by photographer Annie Leibovitz.
While Vanity Fair hasn’t confirmed anything yet, sources for People and TMZ confirmed that Leibovitz was picked for the job. The issue should hit stands by this summer, around the time that his E! Network docu-series about the transition debuts.
The former Olympic runner told ABC News’ Diane Sawyer last month in a two-hour special that, “For all intents and purposes, I’m a woman.” However, he still wants the media to refer to him with male pronouns.
“I look at it this way—Bruce always telling a lie. He’s lived a lie his whole life about who he is. And I can’t do that any longer,” Jenner said during the interview. “My brain is much more female than it is male... It’s hard for people to understand that, but that’s what my soul is.”
E!’s eight-part series about Jenner will start on Sunday, July 26 at 9 p.m.
As for Leibovitz, she’s one of the best-known photographers in the world. Her most recent Vanity Fair work featured the cast and crew of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
