Not long ago, there were rumors that Chris Pratt would join Channing Tatum in a new Ghostbusters film. If that's the case, then something was lost in translation because the Guardians of the Galaxy calls these rumors "complete bulls**t."
The topic was brought up during Pratt's cover profile with Esquire as he promoted next month's Jurassic World. These reports began late last year during the Sony hack, when leaked emails suggested Pratt and Tatum were either interested or courted for a new Ghostbusters film. When it was confirmed a Tatum-starring/produced spin-off was, indeed, in the works, there seemed to be some validity to Pratt's involvement. Although this is apparently not the case.
No one has ever even spoken to me about that," he said firmly. "Never. I've even seen Channing a couple times. As far as I know, that's complete bulls**t.
That's not the only casting rumor he shut down.
"Knight Rider — bullshit. All of them."
He may still get these roles in the near future — and it seems likely, if Jurassic World is a big hit, Pratt will officially be courted for many upcoming franchise properties like Indiana Jones — but for the moment, nobody from Sony came to his door with this offer in hand. It's also unclear when this new Ghostbusters movie goes into production, as directors Joe and Anthony Russo have their hands tied with both Captain America: Civil War, currently in production, and Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2 for the next couple years at least.
Regardless of what offers Pratt gets in the near future, he does soon star in the upcoming Magnificent Seven remake alongside Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Jason Mamoa and Matt Bomer. He's also set to lead the Passengers alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Cowboy Ninja Viking and, of course, Guardians of the Galaxy 2. At least as far as we, and Pratt, know.
