Daredevil, the new superhero series from Marvel Studios, has officially become the top rated show on Netflix.

According to BusinessInsider, the Netflix Original Series has hit a 4.6 out of 5 star audience rating on Netflix. That puts it ahead of even the critically acclaimed Netflix series House of Cards, which holds a 4.5, as well as ahead other shows like Breaking Bad.

This series, which released its first season on Netflix all at once a few weeks ago, follows a blind lawyer who becomes a vigilante known as Daredevil. It's based on the Marvel comics and actually connects to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, referencing the events of The Avengers in its first episode. It was created by Drew Goddard and stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Rosario Dawson.

The huge success of the show was definitely a surprise, especially considering the mostly middling reaction to Marvel's other shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. But for a superhero show, Daredevil is masterfully done, with genuinely compelling writing and some of the best fight choreography on television.

Luckily for fans who are finishing their binge and rating the series highly, Netflix recently renewed the show for a second season as we previously reported, so we can look forward to even more from Matt Murdock this time next year.
