David Schwimmer will be playing Robert Kardashian in the upcoming crime anthology series American Crime Story and as part of his research, he spoke with Kardashian's his ex-wife, Kris Jenner.

Schwimmer will portray the late Kardashian, who was part of the defense team for O.J. Simpson while John Travolta will play attorney Robert Shaprio, and Cuba Gooding Jr. will play Simpson.

"I was lucky enough to speak to (Jenner) for a few hours who was very generous with her time," Schwimmer told The AP. "I thought, `Who better to tell me who Robert was as a husband and a father than her?' and it's been a very exciting process so far."

Selma Blair has been cast to play Jenner.

Gooding Jr. said of the series, “People keep asking me whether I think he did it or not, and I don't think that's the goal here, to prove his innocence or his guilt. I think it's more us putting the judicial system under the spotlight,” adding, “I think this 10 hours of television is gonna be very powerful, and I think a lot of people are going to learn a lot."

The show is based on the book The Run of his Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin and it’s being directed by Glee’s Ryan Murphy.
