As the backlash over Josh Duggar’s past sexual molestation of underage girls, including some of his sisters, continues to mount, contradictory statements made by the family patriarch, are garnering more outrage.
Gawker noted that during a Q & A on Jim Bob Duggar’s Republican nomination for Senate to Arkansas campaign website, he said that he believed incest should be punishable by death.
“Rape and incest represent heinous crimes and as such should be treated as capital crimes,” the Duggar father said.
These statements came from a man who knew about his eldest son’s misconduct as many believe that he and his wife pulled strings so he would not be prosecuted.
Josh admitted to the molestation and said that he received counseling for the incident and his ultra-conservative religious family said that they have been brought closer to God by what happened.
As previously reported, the family’s popular reality show 19 Kids And Counting has since been pulled from TLC. The show chronicled the lives of Jim Bob, his wife Michelle, and their many children.
