A few days after boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he would fight Manny Pacquiao again when the Filipino recovers from surgery, he has changed his tune.

The AFP noted that in an interview set to air Saturday night on Showtime, Mayweather admitted that while he did say he would give Pacquiao a rematch he has changed his mind. The 38-year-old then branded his opponent from last week as a “sore loser” and “coward.”

"He lost. He knows he lost. I lost a lot of respect for him after all of this," Mayweather said. "At this particular time, no [rematch], because he’s a sore loser and he's a coward.”

These latest comments are in stark contrast from what the boxer texted ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith a few days ago.

As previously reported, Mayweather said he would put off his September retirement for a rematch with Pacquiao, who had a shoulder injury when he fought him Saturday.

Mayweather won the fight by a unanimous decision, but said he is irritated that Pacquiao and his people have blamed the loss on his injury.

Pacquiao underwent arthroscopic surgery for a torn rotator cuff on Wednesday afternoon.
