The Foo Fighters were the last musical guests to take the stage on the Late Night With David Letterman and they didn't disappoint. The band played Wednesday night and honored their friend Letterman while performing a Foo Fighter's classic.

Letterman introduced the band and recounted when after he had gone through quintuple bypass surgery that the band came back for his comeback show, breaking up their South American Tour to return to the late night stage.

Rolling Stone reported that the band performed "Everlong" while showcasing clips from Letterman's career, starting with the opening credits and rolling into classic moments like; Jerry Lawler slapping Andy Kaufman, Drew Barrymore dancing on the desk and the montage honored some of those who had passed away including, Melman, Warren Zevon and Johnny Carson.

As previously reported the Foo Fighters joined an already packed schedule of musical guests that came to honor Letterman including Bob Dylan.
