Former Oasis guitarist and current High Flying Birds frontman Noel Gallagher has given his opinion on Zayn Malik leaving One Direction in a new interview.
Gallagher made no qualms about his belief that it was a dumb decision on Malik’s part to quit the mega-successful group.
“It's a strange thing for that lad to have done at that age,” Gallagher told Rolling Stone, laughing at the part in his statement that read “I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old,” suggesting he won’t feel that way at 25.
“Hang on a minute. You can be f--king anything that moves and gettin' paid half a million dollars a week, you f--kin' idiot. You want to be a normal 22-year-old? Have you met any normal 22-year-olds? They're f--kin' sh-t-for-brains.”
In another interview with HuffPost Live, Gallagher commented on Liam Payne’s recent description of their new album as "a bit Oasis-y."
"Honestly, I cannot wait to listen to what their version of 'Oasis-y' means,” he said.
