TLC, the network that launched Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, has become the go-to network for all around unusual programming and the network head, Marjorie Kaplan, is well aware.
Kaplan even used the words “freak show” to describe how the content has been on the network and revealed plans for some more honorable shows.
"It's kind of a relief to go back to something with a sense of purpose," she said in an interview, Fox News reports. "The further the brand went from being The Learning Channel, the harder it got for people to see the purpose."
Last year, TLC canceled Here Comes Honey Boo Boo after a scandal came to light involving an ex-boyfriend of June Shannon, Mark McDaniel, molesting one of her daughters. Shannon was photographed with McDaniel and the show was pulled.
The network is now looking ahead to the future with inspirational shows like My Big Fat Fabulous Life and Little People, Big World. New shows like Long Lost Family and I Got You Babies will soon air.
