When Janice Dickinson came forward with her own allegations of sexual assault against Bill Cosby, the comedian’s attorney called her claims defamatory. Now she’s turning the tables, filing a defamation lawsuit after Cosby’s response.

The former supermodel came forward in November 2014, claiming that Cosby drugged her then sexually assaulted her. She also claimed that her publisher was pressured to cut the story from her 2002 memoir. Cosby’s attorney, Martin Singer, quickly denied all the allegations, including the story about her book.

Dickinson later told the Daily Mail that being called a liar made it more difficult for her, as the memories of the assault came back to her.

Today, Dickinson told Entertainment Tonight that she is suing Cosby “for justice.”

“What sparked this lawsuit is Bill Cosby through his representatives calling Janice Dickinson a liar, and Janice is refusing to be re-victimized,” her lawyer, Lisa Bloom, told ET. “She alleges she was drugged and raped by Bill Cosby, and then re-victimized again when he called her a liar.”

Bloom also sent a statement to E! News, further explaining that if Singer had retracted his comments about Dickinson being a “liar,” the lawsuit wouldn’t be needed.

“But because they refused , her only option to clear her name is this lawsuit. She looks forward to going to court and proving her case which would include proving that Bill Cosby drugged and raped her as she alleges,” Bloom said.

Singer and Cosby have not commented on the lawsuit.
