Jennifer Lawrence enjoyed a ladies night out with her friends on Broadway and saw the production of Finding Neverland at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Lawrence arrived in New York Friday evening and she is expected to attend the Met Gala on Monday but managed to spend time with friends while in the city.
People reported that Lawrence was able to go back stage and meet the cast during an intermission took a picture with the cast backstage.
Neverland tells the origin story of Peter Pan and features Kelsey Grammer and Glee alumni Matthew Morrision.
The musical missed out on Tony nominations but the production is a hit, bringing in over a million dollars a week, Playbill reported.
Harvey Weinstein who is behind the project, spoke to the cast and crew after the nominations came out and said that it wasn't a reflection on the cast or crew. He said, "It was a missile, squarely aimed at me" and "had no reflection on them or what takes place onstage every single night."
