Johnny Depp’s dogs have survived the trip from Australia. Since they weren’t welcome to the land Down Under, the actor’s two Yorkshire Terriers are now on their way home to the U.S.
Earlier this week, Australia’s Minister of Agriculture, Barnaby Joyce, said that the dogs were not properly checked in when Depp arrived in the country last month on his private jet. If Depp didn’t take them back to the U.S., the dogs would either be euthanized or quarantined.
“If we start letting movie stars, even if they've been 'Sexiest Man Alive' twice, to come into our nation then why don't we just break the laws for everybody,” Joyce said in a statement. “It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States. After that I don't expect to be invited to the opening of Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Today, Joyce confirmed on Twitter with a blunt message that the dogs are now out of the country. “Dogs gone,” he wrote.
Depp is currently in Australia to film the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales. Disney will be releasing the film on July 7, 2017. Now that the dogs didn’t have to be euthanized, perhaps we’ll see Joyce at the Australian premiere.
