Neil Patrick Harris is set to host a variety show on NBC and the project finally has a title. It’s a pretty confident one, too.
Ahead of the peacock’s upfront presentation to advertisers next week, Vulture reports that the show will be called Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris.
The 10-episode series was announced in October 2014 and got a plug during the Super Bowl in February. It will follow the classic variety show format, with sketches, games, comedy and music.
Best Time Ever is based on the U.K. hit Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and ITV Studios America is a co-producer on NPH’s show.
NBC is making a curiously interesting push to revive the variety show format, as it is also interested in having Maya Rudolph host one. Rudolph hosted a special that aired last May, but nothing had been heard on the Maya Rudolph Show front until this week.
Variety reported on Wednesday that NBC is in talks with the former Saturday Night Live star and producer Lorne Michaels.
NBC’s upfront presentation is on Monday at Radio City Music Hall. The network’s 2015-16 plans will be revealed Sunday.
