One producer is so angered by Robert Downey Jr. recently walking out on a journalist that he’s publicly firing back.

A Current Affair producer, Wayne Darwen, is now saying the actor was “more interesting” back when he was deep in his drug addiction.

“Junior was a lot more interesting when he was a substance-abusing, suffering artist — brave and silly enough to push the envelope,” Darwen told Fox411.

He went on to bring up Downey Jr. walking out on the journalist for bringing up his past, “He should remember that it was the untamed spirit of the indie movement and the writings of journalists he now walks out on, that made him a name in the first place.”

During an interview with Howard Stern last month, Downey Jr. said his only regret from walking out of that interview was not walking out “sooner.”

“What I have to do in the future is give myself permission to say, 'That is more than likely a syphilitic parasite, and I need to distance myself from this clown,’” he continued. "Otherwise, I’m probably going to put hands on somebody, and then there’s a real story."
