With just a day to go before the first-ever U.S. Red Nose Day, NBC has announced who will host the network’s special on Thursday. It should come as no surprise that all three have some links to the network.
Seth Meyers, the current host of Late Night and the former Saturday Night Live star, will be joined by David Duchovny and Jane Krakowski.
Of course, Duchovny stars in NBC’s new summer show Aquarius, a period drama that will start on May 28. Krakowski starred in NBC’s 30 Rock and currently stars in Tina Fey’s Netflix series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
A few more celebrities were added to the star-studded roster. Ed Sheeran, Josh Groban, Al Roker, Andy Cohen, Kellan Lutz, Christian Slater and Kermit The Frog will all make appearances during the special. Previously announced stars include One Direction, Blake Shelton, Jennifer Garner, Julia Roberts, Will Ferrell, Jimmy Fallon, Blake Shelton, Richard Gere, Reese Witherspoon, Jack Black, Michelle Rodriguez, Julianne Moore, Zac Efron, John Mellencamp, John Krasinski, Nick Cannon and Pharrell Williams.
The special will air on Thursday at 8 p.m. live from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. There will also be a new Funny Or Die sketch for the special, along with the debut of Coldplay’s Game of Thrones musical. You can see a preview of that right here.
Red Nose Day is a popular “fun-rasier” campaign in the U.K. to help children living in poverty that has raised over $1 billion in 30 years. You can learn more about the first American effort right here.
