Modern Family star, Sofia Vergara, will be honored with the inaugural Actors Inspiration Award from the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. She will be presented the award during the SAG Foundation's annual golf classic in Los Angeles on June 8th.
SAG Foundation president JoBeth Williams explained why Vergara was the selection for this honor. "Sofia’s support for our programs, commitment to children’s literacy and generous charitable giving embody the spirit of this award,” said Williams.
Variety reported that this presentation will also be celebrating SAG Foundation’s 30th anniversary.
Vergara explained that she was honored to be recognized in this way. “This group does so much work supporting and educating the entertainment community and also the general public. I know how hard it can be to get work in this town and I’m grateful that the SAG Foundation exists to help those who are struggling," said the Modern Family star.
Over 125 actors and Hollywood executives will be playing in this golf classic, ACE Showbiz reported.
