The U.S. men’s sprint relay team at the 2012 London Olympics were stripped of the silver medal they earned as part of Tyson Gay’s doping case, according to a report on Wednesday.
Two officials told The Associated Press about the decision, as it has not been announced yet. However, the International Olympic Committee already told the U.S. Olympic Committee. The USOC has been asked to collect the medals from all members of the team.
Gay already turned in his medal after he was suspended from competitions for a year after testing positive for doping. He had all of his results from 2012 on pulled from the record books.
Although Trell Kimmons, Justin Gatlin, Ryan Bailey, Jeffery Demps and Darvis Patton have not been accused of doping, they all must surrender their medals. Gatlin and Bailey ran in the final race with Gay.
The team finished in second with a time of 37.04 seconds. The gold went to the Jamaican team, led by Usain Bolt. The Trinidad and Tobago team won bronze, while the French team finished in fourth.
