Zayn Malik has broke millions of fans’ hearts by removing all traces of One Direction from his Twitter account, his final step in removing himself from the group.
He announced his exit back in March, so that should be enough time to get used to the changes but it proved to be another heartbreaking moment for One Directioners.
His Twitter handle used to be @ZaynMalik1D and now it’s simply @zaynmalik. He also wiped out his bio, so all that’s left is his location (England). His bio used to read, "Just close your eyes and enjoy the roller coaster that is life 🙂 x."
E! Online reports the hashtag #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D was immediately started by fans to show Malik how much he will be missed as part of the band.
As for Malik, he’s likely enjoying his time away from the public eye. He said in his official statement when announcing his exit, “I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”
