Amy Poehler is in talks to star in the New Line comedy The House opposite Will Ferrell. It's a story about a couple who start an illegal casino in their home, alongside their neighbors, after they lose their daughter’s college fund.
This will mark the first time the duo will reunite on the big screen since the 2007 comedy, Blades of Glory.
Neighbors writers, Brendan O’Brien and Andrew J. Cohen co-wrote the script and Cohen is set to direct the film, notes The Wrap.
Adam McKay and Ferrell will produce the movie through Gary Sanchez Productions as well as O’Brien, through Good Universe. The executive producers are set to be Chris Henchy and Jessica Elbaum and Richard Brener. Michael Disco and Sam Brown are overseeing the film through New Line, according to Variety.
Poehler will soon be known as Joy in Pixar’s new animated film Inside Out as well as her role in Universal’s upcoming Sisters which she stars opposite Tina Fey. Variety also reports Poehler is producing a few TV shows through Paper Kite productions including, Difficult People which is set to air on Hulu.
